Stockholm day 1

I arrived Amsterdam probably as late as we were to leave, but maybe a little better than that. Even so, the connection was tight. I ran through Schiphol and tried to get through security as quickly as possible, and made great time, but found at the gate that Scandinavian airlines had canceled my ticket even though 1) I was there as boarding started and 2) the flight wasn't full. It didn't make a ton of sense to me. Anyway, they got me back on it, but my luggage wasn't so lucky. I arrived Arlanda and waited in vain for my bag. After logging a lost bag ticket with the baggage desk, I boarded the train for the city (Stockholm C station), a $70 roundtrip ticket (though I had to use a debit card because it demanded a PIN). The U.S. could take a few notes from this train: it's just going back and forth to and from the airport and the city center and it purrs along at 205 kph at its top end speed. I was impressed. From the station I got over to the Sheraton and located Jaime, Alex, Jana, and Anjna. I had missed Guys and Girls Night Out the night prior, but that meant that people were slower moving today, and I had arrived in time to take a boat tour -- The Under the Bridges Tour of Stockholm -- with Rob, Anjna, Alex, Schultze, Blair, and Jana. But only after pounding a Swedish sausage from a nearby vendor with Alex. The tour was quite good and see saw a lot but I couldn't keep my eyes open the whole time and was in and out of sleep.
I took a nap afterward and then we went to dinner at an Italian place where Sole, Sara Matuszak, Ted Gast, and Rastko joined as well. A lot of fun. Discussed the airline industry with Rastko who does pricing for Northwest. Afterward, we went to a bar and drank some tasty beer and watched a little soccer--whereas the locals watch A LOT of soccer since it was clearly the reason for their being there (they left right after the game). Arriving back at the hotel I checked to see if my bag had arrived, but it hadn't. The next morning, we'd be on a 10:30am train to the site of the wedding, so I was hoping for delivery by then.
